LOS GATOS, Calif. August 17, 2009 — Sterling Communications Inc., an independent, full-service, high-tech public relations agency, today announced that it has been named to PRSourceCode's Top Tech Communicators list for 2009. This honor marks the second time in three years for Sterling; the agency was also selected as a Top Communicator in 2007. In addition, PRSourceCode named one of Sterling's account supervisors as an individual Top Tech Communicator in 2009. "Surveyed journalists told us that cultivating relationships is a leading factor separating the best from the rest, a characteristic that Sterling Communications exemplifies," said Cole Smith, PRSourceCode's national sales director. "The Top Tech Communicator awards showcase PR agencies and professionals who are at the forefront of effective media relations. We congratulate Sterling on having built such strong working relationships with so many leading journalists." The survey, now in its fourth year, honors the top five agencies in three categories-large, mid-sized and small-based on total number of employees. It also honors the top 25 individual PR practitioners. Results were based on responses from more than 500 leading information technology and business journalists and bloggers. The survey asked this community to recognize agencies that are responsive, proactive and thorough in their work. In addition, PRSourceCode asked participating journalists to name individuals who stand out based on the value they provide in terms of responsiveness, reliability and overall recognition of editorial needs. "Investing time in people and cultivating strong working relationships has been the keystone of our agency's success over the last two decades, and we take enormous pride in our ability to effectively connect the unique stories of each client to the topics journalists and bloggers-and their audiences-value," said Marianne O'Connor, Sterling's president and CEO. "It's extremely gratifying that Sterling employees have been recognized by the media community for their fine work. This award is also a testament to our philosophy that building credibility, not hype, is the best way to represent clients."
