Halodi: AI-enabled robotics

Building market visibility for an AI-enabled humanoid robot in commercial security

How we did it

Halodi Robotics (now called 1X) develops and deploys humanoid robots for use anywhere people and machines must work safely together. Based in Norway, Halodi engaged Sterling for a short-term project to help lay the groundwork for increased visibility as the company expanded its AI-enabled robotics platform into North America’s commercial security and healthtech markets.

Sterling kicked off the engagement by revamping messaging, crafting new website content, and editing the corporate slide presentation to use with prospective customers and investors. Sterling also put together a guide for executives for commenting on social media posts by customers and partners.

Once these foundational activities were addressed, Sterling drafted blog posts for the corporate website and for Medium aimed at recruiting new engineering talent in artificial intelligence and robotics to support Halodi’s rapidly expanding business on both continents. Sterling also secured an opportunity for the CEO to do a long Q&A with Authority Magazine to explain his vision for the company, for the future of AI, and his advice for engineers pursuing a successful career in robotics.

A key tech PR push was the company’s participation at the ISC West trade show in Las Vegas to highlight a blockbuster new distribution deal. Sterling drafted a press release on the Halodi collaboration with ADT Commercial on the rollout of 140 service robots, which represented the industry’s single biggest contract for humanoid robots at that time. A push to the media resulted in coverage in AI– and security-focused vertical media outlets such as Rocking Robots, Security Sales & Integration, and Buildings, with the partnership landing on the cover of the Electronic Security Association’s Security Nation publication. As a follow-on PR initiative, Sterling set up media interviews with outlets such as Robotics and Automation News and Robotics 24/7 Magazine resulting in coverage of a partnership announcement with Immervision.

Beyond the U.S., Sterling supported the Halodi CTO in preparing for a joint public relations campaign with the City of Montreal, collaborating on an article spotlighting Halodi as a robotics company taking advantage of the city’s growing status as an international hub in AI.

While Sterling’s main focus was on promoting Halodi’s growth in commercial security, Sterling leveraged the company’s healthtech use cases in Norway to craft a winning nomination for the MedTech Breakthrough Award for Best Healthcare Robotics Solution.

This engagement with Sterling for public relations activities helped establish Halodi Robotics as a credible entrant in the North American commercial security market ahead of broader product deployment.
